Hello Out There
Big Updates, Sorry I've Been Away <3
Hey You Guys,
pre-P.S. : playing tonight in Houston if you’re around! More on that below
It’s been a hot second, and I’ve had SO much to share that I honestly let it get the best of me and fell behind in staying up to date. That being said, I should be rolling out a lot more content soon because … (drum roll please)… I, Anna La Mare, after three years on the road, have JUST moved into a little bungalow down in South Austin.
I went to Houston last week, loaded up a 25 foot truck (it was cheaper to rent a bigger one), bribed all my friends to help me load it, showed up to Austin, scared the shit out of my new roommate when I pulled in the truck (he remained calm and smiled the whole time), bribed more friends with hugs, and have spent the last week or so unloading boxes and nesting to my heart’s content. I have had three years of incredible adventures, but I ready to take a pause, get my bed back (more on that travesty another time), get my SHOES back, and start REALLY digging into getting some music out.

I have been attempting for three years to get an album out (even a song), but I think the inconsistently of scheduling and really sitting with music on the road did not work for me. I needed a place that was consistent, and Islay (woof) needed to not be on the road much anymore. I had some promises revoked that were big disappointments monetarily in regards to recording, and so I shifted.
I cancelled a lot of touring - almost everything over the next six months - in order to do this. This meant a ton of shows in North Carolina, Maine, three tours, and handfuls of other things. But in every single circumstance, the venues and the people I had been working with responded with nothing but kindness and understanding. I’ve been so grateful to everyone for letting me make this shift as guiltlessly as possible and enabling me to keep my wonderful connections as I did so. Sometimes it feels like the end of the world to cancel. It’s not.

I don't want to go too much deeper - there’s plenty of time for that. But I want you guys to know that I’m refocusing, that over the next months you’ll be seeing me starting to talk about releasing music, and I’m really excited about it all.
For now, here are the shows that I have managed to keep. There’s stuff in Houston, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, HiCO, North Carolina, and NYC! It would mean the world if you’d come out, say hey, and give me a hug x
Love,
Anna
As Always : There is an option to be a paid subscriber and help support me directly as a musician in my journey. Consider even $1, $5, $10 a year and consider it a replacement for buying me a cocktail :))
